Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs: Qatar is Active Partner in Combating Terrorist Financing

David Schenker, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, stressed in a press videoconference held today media on the occasion of his visit to Doha the importance of the strong partnership between the State of Qatar and the United States of America, noting that Qatar is an important partner in the region, especially in The field of combating terrorist financing.

He noted the importance of military and security cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United States, stressing that this cooperation contributes to bringing peace to the Middle East region.

He said that the Gulf crisis does not serve the interests of the Gulf countries, stressing that the American administration is working hard to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.

He praised the Qatari role in the Afghan peace talks between the United States and the Taliban movement.

With regard to the strategic dialogue between the two countries, the Assistant Secretary of State indicated that there are important areas within the framework of the strategic dialogue.

He pointed out that the United States is working with partners in Europe to solve the worsening crisis between Turkey, Greece and the Libyan crisis.
