The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the State of Qatar celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a celebration at its headquarters today, Friday, December 13, 2019, to present a new postage stamp representing the symbols of the two countries, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the relations between the two friendly countries, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Cuba. The ceremony was chaired by His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Cuba, Mr. Abdulla bin Mohammed Al-Derbasti, and the Deputy Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Mrs. Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, and the Director General of the Cuban Post Company, Mr. Carlos Asensio, in the presence of the foreign ambassadors accredited to Havana.

The Ambassador delivered a speech on this occasion, which dealt with the background of these relations and the desire of the leaderships of the two countries to develop them in all fields. His Excellency also congratulated the government and people of Cuba on electing His Excellency Mr. Miguel Diaz Cannel as President of the Republic of Cuba at the National Assembly sessions of the People Power.

From her side, Mrs. Anayansi Rodriguez pointed out in her speech the distinguished bilateral relations, which is based on the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, "may God protect him" and revolutionary leader Fidel Castro. She stated that both leaders agreed to establish the Cuban Hospital of Dukhan in Qatar, where the medical sector between the two countries is the most important aspect of the mutual cooperation.
