Media coverage of the visit of Minister of State Dr. Hamad Al-Kuwari

The visit of the Minister of State, Dr. Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Kuwari, to the Republic of Cuba received a huge Cuban coverage of the visual, print and audio-visual media, which highlighted the importance of the Qatari person who led the Qatari delegation participating in the Fourth International Conference of the World's Budget in Havana.

The Cuban media referred to his meetings with:

 Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.

 Minister of Public Health.

 Minister of Higher Education.

 FM.

 President of the National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation (as Minister of Sports).

His Excellency participated in the opening session of the conference on January 28, 2019, where he delivered a welcoming speech on the importance of spreading the culture of world peace. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Ministers and State, His Excellency President Miguel Diaz Canel, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Cuba and a large number of high-level invitees from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Russia and China. A Qatari delegation representing educational and cultural institutions also participated in the event.

His Excellency also delivered a speech entitled "Cultural Diplomacy: The Experience of the State of Qatar", addressing the need of the world to promote a culture of peace and mutual respect between peoples and dialogue. He also stressed Qatar's policy to support these principles, through scientific, cultural and educational institutions that are concerned with these aspects.

He referred to the question of the unjust blockade imposed on the State of Qatar, and its wise leadership to seek dialogue, without prejudice to its. He added that Cuba is a model for resisting the blockade in the world.

During his meetings with senior Cuban officials, he exposed the history of diplomatic and political relations between the two countries. His Excellency then signed the agreement establishing these relations 30 years ago. He said that the utmost efforts should be exerted by both parties to expand these relations and elevate them to the highest levels.
