The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Havana provided the second payment of two hundred eighty seven thousand six hundred US dollars (287,600 US dollars), which is the remaining amount of one million two hundred eighty seven thousand and six hundred US dollars (1,287,600 US dollars), represented by the grant granted from The State of Qatar for the rehabilitation project for the Services of the Disabled Medical Center “Golden Age” on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. ​

The following statement is attributable to the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United States: FoxNews.com has published a poorly sourced article with numerous false allegations against Qatar, written by two individuals with an established anti-Qatar agenda. It is important to highlight that the two journalists were known of their hostile agenda to the State of Qatar, and that one of them, Benjamin Winthal of the Foundation of Defense for Democracies (FDD), had previously made false allegations against Qatar, aimed at undermining Qatar's hosting of the US military Air Base at Al Udeid, and the role of the State of Qatar In the global war against terrorism and extremism. The Foundation for Defense of Democracy worked at the direction of the UAE to publish false articles and organized anti-Qatar events. The embassy’s statement added that the two journalists are forced to acknowledge in the last paragraph of their piece, the US State Department made clear the importance of Qatar’s efforts as “one of the United States’ closest military allies in the region”. The declaration made emphasis that the authors and FoxNews.com are using the tragedy in Lebanon to advance false narratives. The focus should be on supporting the Lebanese people. ​

International Court of Justice rules that Qatar can challenge airspace restrictions at the International Civil Aviation Organization

14 July 2020 The State of Qatar welcomes today’s ruling by the International Court of Justice (the “ICJ”) that it has the right to challenge airspace restrictions imposed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt (“the Blockading States”) before the UN’s aviation body – the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Since June 2017, the Blockading States have prohibited Qatar-registered aircraft from flying to or from their airports. The ICAO Council will now resume its proceedings. Qatar’s decision to bring claims before the ICAO follows repeated attempts to negotiate an amicable settlement, which have been consistently rejected by the Blockading States.


Qatar Participates in 9th Session of Arab-Chinese Forum at Ministerial Level

Doha, July 06 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the ninth session of the Arab-Chinese forum at the ministerial level, which began today and held via video conference. The delegation of the State of Qatar in the session was chaired by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. During the session, the State of Qatar said that the Arab-Chinese cooperation is based on common interests, and that requires enhancing cooperation and joint action. The State of Qatar addressed the common interest of both sides in regional issues, such as Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Libya. The State of Qatar hoped that the forum will lead to advance South-South cooperation and sustainable development on the national scale.


Government Communication Office statement in response to the false allegations of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property on the ruling issued by the World Trade Organization

June 27, 2020 The State of Qatar confirms that the statement issued by the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property on Tuesday, June 23, includes a series of incorrect allegations about the results of the ruling issued by the WTO dispute settlement committee in its report titled: Saudi Arabia - Procedures related to the protection of property rights Intellectual. The report of the Dispute Resolution Committee indicated the following: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia cannot invoke the proffered essential security interests to justify the failure to take criminal measures against beoutQ that carried out piracy activities, and that this is due to its decision to cut ties with the State of Qatar. The Conflict Resolution Committee considered that the Kingdom had taken measures that prevented the beIN channel from obtaining legal advice in Saudi Arabia to protect intellectual property rights. In its report, the Dispute Resolution Committee indicated that the aforementioned information was sent to the relevant authorities in the Kingdom from 2018, bearing in mind that the Saudi Intellectual Property Authority was not established until 2019. The Saudi authorities issued a statement confirming their commitment to "play their role" to put an end to piracy of intellectual property rights, but unfortunately, it can be concluded from the statement of Saudi Arabia that it has not yet considered the results and judgment reached by the committee in its report.


Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister announces that Qatar pledges $ 10 million to the World Health Organization to combat the pandemic (Covid 19)

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani announced the commitment of the State of Qatar to donate $ 10 million to the World Health Organization to support rapid access to equipment for testing, treatment and supply an emerging coronavirus vaccine (Covid-19), in addition to his $ 20 million contribution to the Global Alliance for Vaccines (GAVI).
