The Embassy participates in the ceremony held in honor of the King of Spain during his historic visit to Cuba

The Embassy participated in the ceremony held at the Grand Theater "Alicia Alonso" in honor of the King of Spain Felipe VI and his wife Leticia, who arrived in Havana on Monday, November 11, 2019, in a historic visit, in the occasion of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Cuban capital. The trip of Philip VI, the King of Spain, is the first state visit to this country, which was one of the last Spanish colonies until 1898.


His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani inaugurates the 48th ordinary session of the Advisory Council

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered a speech on 5/11/2019 to the Advisory Council (Shura) in the opening of its 48th ordinary session. The following are the most important points: 1. The speech included consistent positions, attitudes in order to achieve greater welfare for the Qatari people and all who live on this land. 2. It was comprehensive with regard to domestic affairs and clearly reflected the state's policy and positions towards regional and international issues, especially the Palestinian cause. 3. HH The Amir's speech expressed the noble values and important principles of the State of Qatar despite the unjust siege, in line with the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030. 4. The speech focused on the continued economic growth, particularly the non-hydrocarbon sector, and emphasized the will of the state to promote economic diversification. 5. The speech highlighted the Qatari leadership's interest in focusing on domestic and international affairs, which reflected positively on the consolidation of the democratic process in the country, in addition to strengthening Qatar's position on the international map.


Director of North Africa and the Middle East met the Charge de Affairs and the Third Secretary of the Embassy.

Mr Ghanim Essa Al-Ghanim, Charge de Affairs, and Sheikh Mohammed Bi Abdul Aziz Fahad Al-Thani, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Havana, met with HE Mr. Hector Igarza, Director of North Africa and the Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at his office in the ministry, on Wednesday 09/10/2019. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.



Qatari Ambassador Honored by the Diplomatic Corps at Farewell Ceremony

The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Nicaragua, held a ceremony in honor of the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Rashid Al Mulla, on 01/10/2019, on the occasion of the termination of his mission. The ceremony was attended by the foreign ambassadors accredited in Cuba.


The Staff of the Embassy Held a Farewell Ceremony for the Ambassador

The staff of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Cuba held a farewell ceremony for the Ambassador Rashid Al Mulla on Monday 30/9/2019 at the Embassy in Havana. They presented him a gift to express their gratitude to H.E. during his tenure. The embassy members also welcomed Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Thani appointed as the third secretary at the embassy.




The Arab Diplomatic Corps Held a Farewell Luncheon for the Qatari Ambassador

The Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the State of Palestine, held a luncheon in honor of the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Rashid Al Mulla, on 26/9/2019, on the occasion of the termination of his mission. The luncheon was attended by the Arab ambassadors accredited in Cuba, and representatives of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some friends.


First Deputy Minister of MINREX Held a Farewell Meeting with the Qatari Ambassador

His Excellency Mr. Marcelino Medina, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a farewell meeting with H.E. Mr. Rashid Mairza Al-Mulla, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Cuba, on Wednesday, 25 September 2019. The two sides exchanged views on the solid bilateral relations and the will of the two governments to continue developping them. The Cuban Deputy Minister extended his gratitude to the Ambassador for his efforts to consolidate the bilateral relations. The ambassador also thanked the Cuban official for all the support provided to the embassy during his mission.
