Speech of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the UN Climate Finance and Carbon Pricing Coalition Session in New York

H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani took part at the UN Climate Action Summit 2019, which was held by H.E. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday, in conjunction with convening the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. A number of heads and leaders of the world and representatives of civil society organizations and institutions concerned with the environment attended the meeting as well. H.H. delivered a speech in which he addressed the climate change as one of the most serious challenges of our time and highlighted the significant role that Qatar assumed in this regard, by hosting important international climate events, developing national plans, and taking several measures to develop technologies that are sensitive to climate change, the preservation of the environment, and the adoption of clean energy.

The Cuban news agency Prensa Latina published an article entitled "Qatar insists on not losing" on September 10, which consists of two parts, exposing the development witnessed by the State of Qatar and its capacity to overcome the effects of the embargo. The article provides information on economic nformation, which refers to the economic stability and expectations of greater growth in the future. The article draws on reports from key institutions such as the International Monetary Fund, Qatar Central Bank, Qatar Financial Center and Qatar Free Zones Authority. The article highlighted the fact that the Qatari economy has overcome the challenges of the blockade, not only because of its wise economic policy, based on the vision of Qatar 2030, but thanks to the Qatari unity. H.E. Held a Dinner to Honour Civil Aviation Representatives

H.E. Mr. Rashid Al-Mulla hosted a dinner on August 27th at his residence to honour the President of the Cuban Institute of Civil Aviation, Armando Daniel López and the Permanent Representative of the Qatar Mission to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Mr. Essa Abdullah Al-Maliki.



H.E. Received the Irani Ambassador to Cuba

Ambassador Rashid Mairza Al-Mulla received at the Embassy on Tuesday 09/07/2019, the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Cuba, Mr. Rashid Bayat Mokhtari.They exchanged views on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.


The Embassy Attended the Celebration of Prensa Latina's 60th Anniversary

The Embassy participated in the celebration of Prensa Latina's 60th anniversary on Friday, June 14, 2019. The local news agency was founded by the Cuban President Fidel Castro, when the internationalist leader pointed out the necessity of establishing a news agency that could broadcast Latin American news, committed to honesty, truth and neutral attitudes. The late Che Guevara strongly supported the media project in Cuba.
