Antecedents and evolution of the crisis of the Gulf and the humanitarian impact of the siege, after one year.

The ambassador wrote an article about the Gulf crisis after a year since its outbreak: Our country is going through the worst crisis in the Gulf region since a year later, when the four countries (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt) cut off diplomatic relations with our country and imposed an air, sea and land blockade. Another element of instability in the region and the countries of the Middle East in general. The background of the crisis consists of the piracy operation that affected Qatar News Agency and the fabricated news attributed to His Highness the Amir. Then the Qatari authorities tried to clarify this fabricated information. These countries did not care about our initiative. We have tried several times and are still trying to reach a peaceful solution to this crisis, explaining with no doubt that this should be done without compromising our sovereignty and our political independence, but all our attempts have been met by their denial. It became clear to all that the objectives of these countries are to eliminate our national decision and to undermine the ability of our leadership, but the results were contrary to what they expected. They have also worked hard to convince the world that the State of Qatar sponsors and finances terrorism. But everyone knows today that our country is committed and working to fight terrorism in all its forms. Trump's wobbly position from the crisis: Among the factors that have affected the crisis from the beginning are the volatile position of US President Donald Trump, and his statements against Qatar that contradicted the position of the White House and the Pentagon. It was clear from the outset that the US president stood in the ranks of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, although he reversed his position and made several attempts later to persuade these countries to end the crisis as soon as possible. Contradictory demands with the policy of the embargo states: Among the arguments that led these countries to make their decision is the support of our state for the Muslim Brotherhood movement, the same organization hosted by Saudi Arabia in the context of its conflict with Nasser in the past. They have not stopped supporting militant groups such as the Salafi and Wahhabi movements. Among their contradictions is our intention to sever the relationship with Tehran, while the volume of trade between the UAE and Iran is the highest among the GCC countries. We also do not want to break our relationship with Iran, a neighboring country that has been quick to help us since the crisis broke out, and we have common interests. Humanitarian Implications and Human Rights Violations: One of the most serious consequences of this crisis is the humanitarian repercussions and its impact on human rights, where Gulf families have been intertwined and deprived Gulf workers and students from traveling to and from Qatar and hindered the functioning of Gulf companies and businessmen. The most important features of the Gulf crisis today: 1. These countries persist in their hostile policy against the State of Qatar. 2. Saudi Arabia and its allies adopt the policy of pressure and believe that Doha is affected, but the economic indicators proved the opposite. 3. The determination of the leaders of these countries to resolve the crisis within the Gulf House, without providing good faith initiatives in this regard. 4. Although we do not believe that this conflict reached the point of military confrontation, what concerns us is not to repeat the experience in Yemen. 5. If this dispute is prolonged, it will not be in the interest of any of the parties and will impair the investment climate of all countries.
