The Minister of State paid a visited Cuba

The second round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Cuba was held in the capital Havana on Monday, 30/4/2018. The Qatari delegation was headed by His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, while the Cuban side was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina. The meeting was attended by Qatari Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba Mr. Rashid Mairza Al Mulla, the Director of the American Department of Foreign Affairs, HE Zayed bin Rashid Al Nuaimi. From the Cuban delegation the meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministry Director-General for Bilateral Affairs, Mr. Armando Bergara, the director of the Department of North Africa and the Middle East, Mr. Hector Cabrera Aagarza.


The Ambassador hosted a dinner in honor of the Qatari delegation headed by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

HE Ambassador Rashed Mirza Al Mulla hosted a dinner in his residence in the evening of April 29, 2018 in honor of the Qatari delegation visiting the Republic of Cuba under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, to hold the Round of Political Consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of Cuba, on April 30, 2018.


The Qatari medical delegation participated in the third international medical conference in Cuba

The Qatari medical delegation, headed by Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of Public Health Department, Ministry of Public Health, participated in the Third International Medical Conference in the Cuban Capital Havana, entitled "International Health for Sustainable Development" held from 23 to 27 April 2018. Mr. Mohammed Amer Al Marri, Assistant Executive Director of Business and Staff Services of the Cuban Hospital- Hamad Medical Corporation, also participated in the conference. The delegation had a courtesy meeting with HH, the Cuban minister of Public Health


HE delivered a lecture about the current Gulf crisis in the Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI)

HE Ambassador Rashid Mairza Al-Mulla delivered a lecture on 26 April 2018 in the Seminar organized by the Higher Institute of International Relations in Havana, "Geopolitics and International Relations in the 21st Century", held from 25-27 April 2018. The title of the conference was “Bilateral Relations and the Cooperation in the International Community”, during which he exposed the history and development of the relations between the two countries, and the role of the State of Qatar and its contribution to building a culture of peace and seeking solutions to regional and international disputes. In his lecture, the Ambassador focused on the current Gulf crisis and its implications for regional and international security, human rights and instability in the region. His Excellency also explained the similarities between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Cuba in their international positions and objectives within the framework of international relations and the international community.


Qatar Announces $100 Mln Contribution to Alleviate Syrian Humanitarian Disaster

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani announced a new pledge of $100 million in 2018 by the State of Qatar in continuation of its commitment to alleviate the Syrian humanitarian disaster, during his speech at the second Brussels Conference on "Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region" .

The State of Qatar welcomes North Korea's announcement to freeze its nuclear and missile tests

The State of Qatar welcomes the announcement made by North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un; today, the freezing of nuclear tests of the launching of missiles and the closure of the nuclear testing site in the north of the country. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the Korean declaration a step that will pave the way for defusing tension on the Korean Peninsula and achieve peace and stability in the region and the world at large. The Ministry expresses the hope of the State of Qatar that Pyongyang will follow the Declaration by further steps leading to the denuclearization of North Korea; while reaffirming its full respect for its international obligations, all the resolutions of the Security Council and the ratification of the Comprehensive Convention on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons Nuclear tests, which would help halt the nuclear arms race in the world.


HH called the new elected Cuban President to ocngratualte him

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a telephone conversation this evening with President Miguel Díaz Canel, the new elected president of the Republic of Cuba. At the beginning of the communication, HH the Emir congratulated President Miguel on his assumption of his duties and wished him success. During the phone conversation, the two sides also discussed the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and means of developing them, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common concern.


HE received the ambassador of Commonwealth Dominica

His Excellency Ambassador Rashid Mirza Al Mulla received His Excellency Mr. Matthew Joseph Walter, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica, on Thursday 19 April 2018. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
